Stress is a common problem in modern society. It can cause weight gain, depression and can even lead to physical illness. So it is wise to invest a little bit of time in things that will make you a more pleasant person and increase the quality of your everyday life. Sometimes the simplest things can provide much needed stress relief. Here's my list of fifteen. If you have more, leave a comment.
1. Take a relaxing hot bath.
2. Sing in the shower.
3. Buy flowers for your office or home.
4. Go to the grocery store and buy your favorite foods.
5. Drink a cup of coffee.
6. Take a nap.
7. Spend time with your family.
8. Listen to music.
9. Give a gift to a friend.
10. Dance.
11. Fall in love.
12. Breathe deeply.
13. Entertain friends.
14. Laugh.
15. Go to the gym.

Helpful tips! I think the 'fall in love' one is abit tricky to do...it usually 'just happens' but hey, maybe if you actually try to do it, it might happen!

Breathing techniques are the best way to elevate mood and it can be done at any time instantly.Many breathing techniques like breathing slowly,breathing with one nostrils at a time,inhale through nostrils and exhale through mouth and vice versa are helpful to elevate the mood.Enjoy!!!!!!

this is a bit helpful, but i don't just need temporary spurts of happiness, i need something that keeps me happy ALL the time, or at least 90% of the time

Hi,,,,great ideas! Here's a few of my favorites:
1. A walk in the park
2. Sit by the lake
3. If you're near an ocean, go to the beach
4. Watch an old movie
5. Light some candles and have an intimate dinner for two
6. Sit on your porch or deck with your coffee and watch the sun come up
7. Same as above and watch the sun go down.
8. Order your favorite take-out and read a book.
9. Volunteer at a nursing home, animal shelter, hospital, etc.
10. Keep a journal.
11. Call on an old friend.
12. Adopt a pet from a shelter.
13. Count your blessings.
14. Make a list of pros/cons in your life, you'll find it's not so bad :)
15. Plant a garden and watch it grow.
Well, I seem to have surprised even myself, just listing these things makes me realize there's a lot that can be done to relieve stress.
